Oh Baby!

So I’ve been off the blog for a couple of weeks as I had much more important things on my mind!  Our little daughter arrived safe and sound on Sunday September 11th 2011 at 5.11am and I have been enjoying every second with her and her big brother since. She arrived on her due date and is the eleventh grandchild so we are thinking 11 is her lucky number – but we aren’t going to give her Eleven as a second name – think that’s been done already!                    I’ll be back soon!

Feather & Ink Stationery Featured in B Magazine

When Amanda Dalton, who works at Weddingsonline contacted us to create her Letterpress Wedding Stationery, we were honoured to have been chosen as one of her vendors.  Amanda is immersed in the wedding industry and knew exactly what she wanted her Wedding Day to look like.  The Wedding took place at Middleton Park House Hotel with Studio 33 capturing all the thoughtful little details and Pearl & Godiva bringing just the right amount of vintage flair to such an elegant occasion.  The combination of soft pink and aquamarine worked beautifully together and played to the discreet sweet as candy theme perfectly. Check out the Autumn issue of BMagazine for lots of inspiration on hosting an Irish wedding.

Kate Moss shares intimate details of her wedding in the September Issue of Vogue , and explains how she wanted it all to look and feel.  Inspired by the Roaring ’20s and the idyllic English countryside, Kate explained: “I wanted it to be kind of dreamy and 1920s, when everything is soft-focus. The Great Gatsby. The code name was GG for a while. That light and that kind of fun decadence. It’s rock-’n’-roll Great Gatsby!”
With the help of photographer Mario Testino,  that dreamy vision was captured.

The Enchanted Bridal Party

The beautiful image of the fairy like bridal party was described by Bella Freud as “the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in my life, like she just walked through some fairy garden and came out clad in that. It’s exquisite.”

Rain, Rain Go Away…

….don’t ruin my wedding day!

Just Married image via SimplyandForever.com

If you are getting married in Ireland it’s probably a good idea to have some cute umbrellas and rain accessories ready for the high probability of rain. Sometimes rain and overcast skies can make for the most dramatic of photographs so you need to be ready to take advantage…

Dramatic Reflection

A pop of yellow is always sure to dispel the gray of an Irish day regardless of the weather..

So I finally gave in and embraced Pinterest.  Now I’m an addict.  I don’t know how to stop.  I don’t want to stop.  I can’t really see any commercial benefit in it. BUT I LOVE IT!  Do I have a problem?!

Drinking Like a MadMan

I was watching Madmen last night and thinking “wow all they do is drink, smoke and hang out in the office they had it sooooo easy” – but then I thought about our generation’s “distractions” – Pinterest, Twitter, Blogging – have they all just replaced the 11am whisky for inspiration?  Definitely better for the liver but will the next generation look back and say “wow all they did was tweet a load of nonsense all day long and clip photos they liked onto boards!” Are all these outlets just an excuse for a good old doss during the workday in the name of creativity?!  Either way I’m in a spot of bother as I’m now hooked, addicted and can’t get enough of Pinterest – going to bed tonight is going to be a challenge, I think I’ll be twitching and going through Cold Turkey.
It’s not all bad though, as  I did come across some beautiful images yesterday – see below – and am starting to think that like the 11am whiskey some things get the creative juices flowing better than others.
Follow me on Pinterest so I can lure you into all it has to offer – I promise you there’s no hangover.
